Welcome to Whiteways Junior School

Our School is in the City of Sheffield , a few miles from the famous Meadowhall Shopping Centre . We have around 375 pupils from all sorts of cultures and backgrounds . Their ages range from 7 to 11 .
We have 12 classes in a modern building shaped like a figure of eight with two quads . Above the school we have a large flat playing field . We are a healthy school and promote eating healthily and taking lots of exercise.

Whiteways Junior was built in the 1970's and is a single -storey building . We have a computer suite and a new extension has just been completed to provide new art , sports and music facilities .
Our uniform is dark blue or maroon and we have a special badge which features a picture of our school .

Our school aim is based upon high achievement , good behaviour , setting a good example and providing a quality environment for learning . Apart from teaching our pupils the 9 subjects of the National Curriculum we also teach French and have dedicated systems in place to assist children with Special Educational Needs and English as an Additional Language . We have a specialist music teacher and arrangements to support Gifted and Talented children .

School is fun at Whiteways! Our school is a leader in BLP which stands for Building Learning Power. every day we work on skills and attitudes that will help us learn, for example. learning to manage distractions or observing well.
